Out of more than 1600 entries from around Australia into the 2013 “Top Gun” Wedding Flowers Competition, we have narrowed the field to the top 30 finalists in 3 categories! One lucky wedding florist from each category will win an iPad-mini (so that’s 3 iPad winners total).

This year’s “Top Gun” Wedding Flowers Competition has been run with 3 categories:

This has proved very popular with Australia’s wedding floristry community and it resulted in a great range of wedding floristry being entered. In fact we were delighted to end up with over 1600 individual entries this year!

Of course this made life for our panel of judges very difficult over the last week! Thankfully our new “pinning” gallery software made it easier for them to sort their favourite entries.

The judges had to choose their top 10 entries in each of the categories for a total of 30 finalist photos.

The 30 finalists are:

Getting to this stage of the competition is in itself an amazing achievement given the scale and quality of the total entries. Each entry will win the florist a finalist certificate for their shop or studio and a badge for their website or social media pages.

Choosing the Winners

Each category will have an overall winner whose prize will be an awesome iPad-mini! So that’s 3 category winners, no single competition winner.

A voting period of one week from today until midday Tuesday 19th November now begins. Voting is open to the public and we will be actively advertising this aspect of the competition to a targeted selection of Australian brides-to-be around the country.

Your vote will be visible of course, as Facebook requires you to log in to ‘like’ anything, so it’s a great way to let those florists whose work you truly admire know that you’re a fan! You might also want to leave an encouraging comment, no doubt it will be greatly appreciated.

You can vote for as many entries as you like (once each) and also you should feel free to promote the Australian real floristry cause by sharing the competition albums with your own Facebook friends and/or page fans.

Going Forward

Of course, choosing the top 30 out of so many entries is a very difficult task. But for those of you who did not make it through, it’s not over for you yet!

Did you know that the peak time for Google searches about wedding flowers is in January?

Our intention is to heavily promote the 2013 competition entries to Australian brides over this period to drive new business directly to you, for free.

We will be working over the next few months to greatly improve our growing florist showcase, leading brides from the wedding flower galleries through to the contact details in the (free) directory, so be sure to send in your directory listing by clicking here and submitting your details.
