Ah autumn, one of my favourite seasons and a fabulous time to get married! The season of autumn, which includes March, April and May is usually jammed packed in the wedding calendar. So many weddings at this time of year are held outdoors as the weather should be not too hot, not too cold, but just perfect. If you want to draw your inspiration from mother nature, think autumn colour tones of yellow, oranges, apricots, reds and browns.
Seasonal flowers include dahlias, tulips, poppies, bouvardia, cornflower, delphiniums, celosia, freesias, calla lilies, iris, snapdragons, wheat, astilbe, peppercorn, billy buttons and daisies. All these pretties mixed with autumn foliage can create a gorgeous bridal style. Here are 10 gorgeous autumn inspiration wedding ideas, starting with this divine textured layer bouquet from Gold Coast Florist.
The Groom can have an equally divine autumn look, a great example of simple autumn leaves and berries to suit the style can be seen from Dominique Flowers.
A floral crown is a lovely way to celebrate the season. I am totally loving this look from V Wright Designer Wedding Flowers. Walking into the garden ceremony with a flower crown, would be so bohemian and so on trend.

Even more floral inspiration for your garden setting, a timber or metal arch adorned with seasonal blooms. With a carpet of autumn leaves, compliments of mother nature herself, it would be a very romantic and pretty setting to be married in. These two examples from Flowers and Pretty Things and Poppy Lane Flowers By Design show you how to pull this look together.
Nothing says autumn to me more, than this beautiful arrangement of blooms and foliage from the botanical heart. The relaxed cascading design, the soft colour palette and ceramic urn sitting on timber crate, shout autumn!. These arrangements could be placed around your reception space, perhaps on the gift or drinks table.
Another super cute autumn idea would be a rustic sign with the bride and grooms name or it could be a cute saying or even a directional sign for guests. Adorned with autumn blooms, this would be a lovely addition to either your ceremony or reception space.
Many autumn weddings take place at wineries and all wineries have wine barrels! Wine barrels decorated with florals can make stunning statement pieces for the ceremony or they are often used after the ceremony for pre-dinner drinks. So why not decorate them with florals. By creating a floral wreath on the top of the wine barrel, as seen in this example by My Little Peony, there is still room for drinks in the middle.
Another autumn wreath shape, but this time around the bride’s waist and wrist. For something a little different to embellish your bridal gown, ask your wedding florist to create a floral belt or bracelet by combining autumn leaves and flowers. This example by Heavenly Blooms, displays hues of red, pink, purples and mauves.
In the reception space bring the outdoors in with autumn blooms and autumn tones. This luscious bridal table display from Flower Nation really makes an elegant feature of the bridal table in the reception space.
And finally we can’t forget about the little flower girl. A great idea for the slightly older flower girl, around 4 years of age and above who wants to be just like the bride, she can carry a smaller version of the bridal bouquet. I’m absolutely in love with these designs from Jess Mauger Floral Design.
