Great excitement is rippling through the Australian floral world, and not just because Mother’s Day is coming up. The remarkably popular Holly Chapple is bringing her Chapel Design 2014 Workshop to Australia in June and everyone – including Holly herself – is très excite!
I dropped into French there not just to sound intelligent (ok I had to Google it) but because Holly will be accompanied by Françoise Weeks, the Belgium born, US-based floral designer. They will be co-leading the 3 day workshop in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales in tandem – double value!
Also we are super-excited to announce that we, Tesselaar Flowers, are a sponsor for the event!

3 Day Wedding Workshop With Holly Chapple & Françoise Weeks
This exclusive hands-on workshop will run over 3 days at the terribly lovely Hopewood House in Bowral. Françoise will be presenting techniques based on her famous Woodlands arrangements and according to the workshop details page, she will explore with attendees how to make woodland bouquets as well as centerpieces, using foliage, bark, berries, seedpods, twigs, mushrooms, herbs and some flowers.
Holly meanwhile will lead classes that draw inspiration from her signature lush bridal bouquets as well as hairpieces, centerpieces, and discussions about the mechanics behind large elevated designs and flower garlands.
About The Chapel Designers
Attending these workshops will not be the end of it for those who can make it, because it seems that the workshops are just the starting point for admission into the Chapel Designers network, an international group started by Holly Chapple in 2010 that has become very popular.
Her website describes The Chapel Designers as “an international support system for floral designers servicing weddings and special events … a supportive and nourishing environment that encourages and cultivates the unique and individual talents of the designers in this group … an environment dedicated to cultivating success in each designer and encouraging members to maintain their own identities, design from their hearts, and learn to listen and trust their intuitive voices.”
Organiser Michelle Van Eimeren of Affair With George Flowers (and one of the winners of our 2013 Top Gun Wedding Flowers Competition) says of Holly “She’s just really good at getting people excited about stuff! What an opportunity it is to meet this lady and learn from her, I think people could really benefit from it. I myself feel so inspired by this lady, I am so excited about this event – to learn from two such wonderfully successful and experienced floral designers!”
Holly certainly does seem to be a powerhouse. Here’s a new video from her that I know you will not regret taking a moment to watch.
Wow. As a marketing guy, who consumes so many marketing videos can I just say that that marketing video, is one of the SINGLE most powerful, professional and moving piece of marketing I have EVER seen. I seriously got tingles. I think I have a new ambition – to be THAT good at what I do!
Anyway! If you’re a wedding and event florist I am sure that, if you can attend, you will get a lot out of this workshop. Go here for more details, there are limited spaces available so be quick.
And not to forget the other amazing star of the show, below we have a gallery of exquisite work by Françoise Weeks coming up on our blog very soon. We are also hoping to get an interview with one or both of these talented designers soon – so stay tuned!
