To launch our brand new floral workshop concept, our Brisbane customers were treated to a fun-filled night learning how to make a flower crown. Lee, Kate, and Cassie from our Brisbane sales team organised and ran the colourful evening, which was held last Tuesday 2nd August at our Brisbane Flower Market and saw 13 attendees – a diverse group of people with widely varying flower knowledge and experience – getting their collective floral creativity on in spectacular fashion!
“It was a great opportunity to build my skills and gain an insight into current trends.” Fee Bissett
On arrival, the guests were offered tea, coffee and nibbles, kitted out in on-trend denim aprons, and shown to their ‘stations’, where floral tape, wire, and scissors were ready to be put into action.
Lee kicked the evening off with an interactive tour of the cool room and presented the ‘inspiration board’, designed to help guests visualise how the huge range of fresh flowers and textured foliage available could best work together to create a whole host of gorgeous and unique flower headpieces.

“The setup was perfect and we were very spoilt with such a lush selection of flowers!“ Amy Wilson
Kate was then introduced to mentor the class and, after inviting the students to handpick their chosen florals from the pre-prepared vases, began a step-by-step instruction on how to achieve stunning flower crowns in the current relaxed, unstructured style.
The attendees then got stuck into designing their creations, with Kate continuing to offer advice and support and Cassie taking professional photos, both of the creative process in action, as well as of each guest with their finished crowns.
To wrap up the evening attendees were given a presentation box to take their fresh floral headpieces home in, which also contained a USB with information on flower availability, stem counts, and a detailed step-by-step on creating flower crowns, amongst other handy material.
Guests were also invited to purchase fresh flowers from the market and to tag themselves in the professional photos on our Instagram, if they wished.
“Friendly, helpful, encouraging and complimentary, it was a pleasure to be mentored by you all.” Nan Gower
