Over the last 6 months as we’ve launched our new website and our Facebook page, we have been a little circumspect as to our real intentions.
Yesterday, however, the marketing team (me, Charlie and Tesselaar CEO, Steve) decided it was time to stop being shy and just tell it like it is.
So here it is: we have a plan and that plan can be summed up in one short, sweet statement…
We want to help you sell more flowers.
It should be pretty obvious to you why: we are here to get your business noticed and to help you sell more flowers so that hopefully you buy more wholesale flowers from us!

You can only buy as many flowers as you’re going to sell – so it makes more sense for us to throw our resources behind helping you to sell more flowers. Then should you choose to buy more from us, well and good!*
So How Can We Help You To Sell More Flowers?
In truth we need your continued participation for this strategy to work. Here’s 6 ways you can help us to help you…
1 – Get Jiggy With Facebook
In the past week, our Facebook flower photo competition pictures were viewed 24,807 times!
Do we have your attention now?
Social media is the future (and the present) of getting your business noticed! It is good old word-of-mouth on steroids!
So, well done to the 157 florists that sent us pictures and gained this marketing exposure for their talent, but let’s keep this rolling! (Don’t forget to go vote by “Liking” your fave arrangements. Voting closes 20th May.)

3 – Get Your Free Web Page
In this here website we are offering you your own page in the ‘Florist Showcase’. This page looks awesome and comes complete with contact details and a link to your own website. All you need to do is provide us with the content, we do the rest. As the site grows in stature, it’s pretty certain loads of potential customers are going to see your page here.

4 – Send Us Lots of Photos
Keep sending us lots of good photos of your best work, weddings, corporate, funerals – anything!
We will add these to our website and our facebook page so that retail flower customers can see what you do, and then contact you. Send them to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be pouring our resources into attracting the general public to our site. They will come because it will be a wonderfully rich resource of inspiration and ideas as well as a simple way to find and contact the best florists in the country (AKA you).
5 – Send Us Stories About Your Experiences
Tell us about your business so we can post interesting stuff! But be aware, social media is not a great place for ‘advertising’. It is a place people go to relate to each other and see things they are interested in. So keep it interesting. Tell a story. Send them to email@example.com
6 – Use these Resources to Help Your Customers
For example, if you have a customer who is thinking about the flowers for her wedding, send them to the wedding photos gallery on Facebook.
Why not keep an internet-connected laptop on your shop counter with this gallery open, so you can go through these options with them face-to-face?

You could also lead your customers through the Florists Showcase for ideas, and in time there will be way, way more examples on our website.
And don’t forget, as well as helping you to sell more flowers, our website and our Facebook site is a great way for you to get a glimpse of things you can’t physically attend, and also a chance to connect with other florists from around the country. So get involved and let us know if you have any cool ideas that you think would add to the fun!

* Here’s our thinking: We’re not a huge company, but we do have some resources to spend on marketing. Now traditionally (in the old world) the obvious thing to do would have been to pummel our customers – florists – with marketing messages designed to convince you that we are the best, that you should buy from us, blah blah blah – but guess what? That wouldn’t achieve very much.
These days, everybody is sick of being advertised at. And you already know we’re here to sell you flowers, so you would have ignored our marketing and just gone about your business as usual. Back up
