The 2011 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, which runs until April 3, is in full swing!
This world renowned flower and garden show is the largest and most successful horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere. Housed in the Royal Exhibition Building and surrounding Carlton Gardens, it has been running now for 16 years.
Many of the florists were using our wholesale flowers so we sent Charlie, Tesselaar’s resident photographer, along on Tuesday with her camera (and a friend) to snap up the colour. Here’s what she had to say about the event:

“We got right in there and were able to watch the talented florists and students hard at work, it was a race against time to get their masterpieces finished in time for judging.
“We were rather impressed at the creativity and individualism of many of the stands. We were absolutely stunned by student work this year, it was very fresh, colourful and inspiring. Mrs Vegetable woman definitely stole my heart.”

Featuring the best landscape and floral talent that Australia has to offer along side an extensive array of garden retail products, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show is a celebration of Australian lifestyle and our great outdoors.
