Peonies were recently celebrated in style at a “Peony Lunch” held at the Chateau Tanunda Estate in the exquisite Barossa Valley of South Australia. Avril and her team from Viva the Flower Store organized an exotic lunch for all participants including a well known floral artist, Jacqueline Coates, and the Victorian Manager of Tesselaar Flowers, Sharon White.
Many of the wine makers and local business owners enjoyed the presentations on the inspiration behind the artistry of painting Peonies and developing a greater understanding and appreciation for all things peony from growing to care in the commercial world and more applicably to how to get these magnificent plants to perform in their own gardens.
Although looking at the pictures attached one could easily appreciate the quality and incredible beauty of this flower and not care for the challenges faced by the growers of this jewel of the flower industry, however it is only fair to acknowledge the effort extended to ensure such a fantastic range of a flower that is only with us for such a short time each year… Indulge and enjoy while you can.
